What About Me? Building Self-Esteem!

With so much happening around us, it’s essential to remember to prioritize yourself. Our self-esteem is a delicate yet powerful aspect of our being, influencing our behavior, motivations, success, relationships, and overall well-being. Despite its importance, self-esteem can often be challenged, but how frequently do we actively address and overcome these challenges? Take a moment to focus on yourself!

As a Black woman, you may face numerous media and external influences that can undermine your sense of self. These influences might obscure your true identity or create barriers to self-discovery. Building self-esteem requires dedicated time for self-exploration, where you can identify your likes and dislikes, hobbies, interests, style preferences, music tastes, and more. It’s okay to experiment and explore, even if it feels daunting amidst societal pressures and expectations. Overcoming the fear of trying something new is the first step towards discovering your authentic self.

Acknowledging that this journey isn’t always easy, it’s important to seek support when needed. Don’t hesitate to reach out to friends, family, or mental health professionals if external influences become overwhelming. Additionally, you can watch our webinar on building self-esteem here: [https://youtu.be/T15EvZAxoPM].
